Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu has called upon members of Parliament to embrace the challenge posed by President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, who underscored the importance of responsible leadership and inclusive governance. Mr. Seruiratu emphasized that the issues raised by the President are crucial for the development of a better Fiji.
“It’s the challenge that he posed on the leadership, and the responsibility that comes with it,” Mr. Seruiratu remarked, highlighting the need for a harmonious approach in a country characterized by its multi-racial and multi-religious communities.
He reiterated the imperative of serving all citizens equally, regardless of their backgrounds. Seruiratu stated that the upcoming parliamentary calendar would prioritize dialogue, debate, and wisdom to ensure that laws and policies are designed for the common good.
“I think what is important is dialogue and wisdom in all these, so that we all look forward to the common good, which is to build a better Fiji for everybody,” he concluded, conveying a hopeful vision for the future of the nation.
