The FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels, which includes the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva, recently wrapped up their ‘Movember’ campaign, successfully raising $5,000 for Lifeline Fiji. This month-long initiative brought attention to vital men’s health topics, such as mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer, all while fostering community engagement and open conversations.

The ‘Movember’ campaign is recognized worldwide as a symbol of men’s health advocacy, motivating participants to grow moustaches and spark discussions about often-overlooked health issues. IHG Fiji Hotels expressed their commitment to this important cause by offering unique experiences and events designed to involve both guests and employees.

One of the standout events of the campaign was the Mental Health Awareness Sessions conducted by Lifeline Fiji. These sessions provided a safe space for employees at all three hotels to engage in conversations about mental well-being while accessing essential resources and professional support.

Lifeline Fiji plays a crucial role in providing 24/7 crisis intervention, suicide prevention services, and resilience-building workshops throughout the country. During November, guests also enjoyed a variety of Movember-themed experiences at the hotels.

Lachlan Walker, the Portfolio General Manager for IHG Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the importance of breaking the stigma surrounding men’s health issues, stating that the campaign not only raised awareness but also inspired action and contributed to the community’s well-being. He affirmed the hotels’ dedication to furthering initiatives that promote social responsibility and hospitality.

This campaign not only raised funds but also nurtured a sense of community, demonstrating how collective efforts can make a significant impact on health awareness. The commitment of IHG Fiji Hotels to supporting mental health reflects a growing recognition of the importance of well-being in today’s society.

Overall, the success of this ‘Movember’ campaign signifies a positive step toward addressing men’s health challenges and highlights the valuable work being done by Lifeline Fiji in the community.
