The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO), Livai Driu, has issued a firm warning to those making threats on social media, calling for calm and patience while the police conduct their investigation. “Emotions are still high at the moment, and we are calling on all parties involved to stay composed. Taking matters into your own hands will only escalate the situation and make things worse,” ACP Driu stated.

He confirmed that police have commenced efforts to apprehend suspects, noting that one of the bouncers involved has already been taken into custody. “Last night, we apprehended one individual, and he is currently in our custody,” he mentioned.

A team from the Totogo Police Station has been actively collecting statements from witnesses and others involved in Namatakula Village. ACP Driu urged everyone connected to the incident to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation by providing statements and any available evidence.

He highlighted the significance of patience during this process, encouraging the public to trust in law enforcement as they pursue a thorough investigation. “We are monitoring social media activity and will remain vigilant to prevent any unlawful actions,” he assured.

As the New Year approaches, ACP Driu reassured the public that the police are committed to ensuring safety and security for everyone.

This calls for a community effort in supporting law enforcement initiatives, fostering an environment where justice prevails through cooperation and composure. By remaining calm and allowing the authorities to do their job, individuals can contribute to a more peaceful resolution.

In summary, ACP Driu’s message underlines the importance of restraint and cooperation during tense situations, promoting safety as we approach a new year.
