“United Against Drugs: A Call to Protect Our Villages”

Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna, addressed a significant issue affecting local villages, citing the increase in drug abuse, particularly concerning marijuana and methamphetamine. He made these remarks while concluding the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament in Naitasiri.

During his speech, Tubuna emphasized that drug use threatens to undermine village progress and inflicts suffering on women and children. He called for a united approach to combat the infiltration of harmful substances into communities.

“We must tackle this problem collectively; the Government cannot do it alone, but if we stand united, we can prevent the widespread harm that these substances would bring to our communities,” he stated.

Tubuna also acknowledged the two-day fundraising event as a crucial step toward the goal of constructing a multipurpose hall for the school. He expressed appreciation for the players who participated in the tournament and the organizers who contributed to making the event successful. He recognized the community’s support for the school’s fundraising efforts.
