Police have ramped up security measures in Nadi in anticipation of the UB40 concert scheduled to take place at King Charles Park later today. Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for Western, confirmed that law enforcement is fully mobilized to guarantee a secure environment, free from crime or disturbances throughout the event.

Extensive planning has been executed to manage crowds and mitigate any potential incidents during the concert. Specialized police units, including the K9 team, will be present, equipped with modern surveillance technology to enhance safety.

SSP Vaisewa advised concert-goers to be prepared for thorough security checks at all entry points, along with random checks on individuals who may appear suspicious. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations, particularly regarding alcohol consumption, as any illegal behaviors will not be tolerated.

In an effort to maintain public safety, police presence will be significantly heightened in and around Nadi Town, Namaka, and the Lautoka corridors. The Fiji Police Force has also requested the cooperation of the general public to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending the concert. The focus on security reflects a proactive approach to event management, aiming to promote a fun and safe atmosphere for concert attendees.
