Two of the three men accused of breaking into the Alison Supermarket in Laucala Beach on Monday morning are scheduled to appear in the High Court in Suva next Friday. Leone Lesumailepanoni, 43, and Sosiveta Raura, 51, faced Magistrate Charles Ratakele yesterday, each facing four counts of robbery.
It is claimed that the pair, along with a third accomplice, entered the supermarket armed with cane knives and threatened the cashier to empty the cash register. The third suspect was released by police following their investigation.
Magistrate Ratakele has ordered the two men to remain in custody until their upcoming court hearing.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges related to crime and public safety, highlighting the need for vigilance within communities. However, the prompt action by police and the judicial system ensures that the alleged perpetrators will face their day in court, promoting a sense of accountability and justice.
In light of these events, it’s important for communities to come together and focus on building safer environments while supporting law enforcement efforts.
