Saraswati College Eyes Gold at Upcoming Athletics Showdown!

Saraswati College Aims for Glory at Upcoming Athletics Competition

Saraswati College in Nausori is gearing up for an impressive performance at the forthcoming Triple N zone athletics competition, fueled by their aspiration to secure medals. To prepare for this crucial event, the college recently held an inter-house competition in collaboration with Muaniweni College at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Principal Pranesh Kumar acknowledged the partnership with Muaniweni College, highlighting that nearly 300 students engaged in the inter-house competition. He emphasized the significance of personal achievements, stating, “The focus was on achieving personal bests as the students gear up for the Triple N zone and Coca Cola games.” This preparation encompasses various track and field events, aimed at identifying and refining potential athletes for these esteemed competitions.

Saraswati College has set a clear objective: to select 60 athletes for the Triple N zone and to send their top competitors to the Coca Cola games. Last year, the college participated with 14 athletes at the Coca Cola games, but they are determined to increase that number this year, aiming to clinch their first gold medal.

Despite competition from larger schools, Saraswati College expresses confidence in the talent and determination of their athletes. The ongoing focus on athletic development not only cultivates a competitive spirit but also fosters a sense of community among students.

This trend of intense preparation is mirrored in other schools as well, including Lelean Memorial School, which is preparing to field 180 athletes following a successful inter-house competition, and Adi Cakobau School, which is nurturing younger talent to defend their title.

These initiatives underscore a growing movement within Fiji’s educational sports framework, highlighting the importance of competitive athletics in promoting personal growth, teamwork, and resilience among students. The enthusiasm surrounding these athletic events provides a hopeful outlook for the future of sports in the region, inspiring young athletes to pursue their dreams and build a dynamic sports culture.
