Rob Rush, the second son of renowned New Zealand rugby sevens legend Eric Rush, has officially joined the All Blacks Sevens team in Cape Town. This comes after New Zealand faced a challenging setback in their recent match, losing two key players, Joe Webber and Andrew Knewstubb, during their 14-0 defeat to Argentina in the bronze medal playoff at the Dubai Sevens.

Rob Rush is stepping in to replace Webber, while Fletcher Carpenter takes Knewstubb’s position. The anticipation among New Zealand fans is palpable, as many are eager to see Rob share the field with his brother, Brady, during the tournament.

The All Blacks Sevens are set to kick off their campaign against the USA Sevens, scheduled for 11:54 PM tomorrow night, followed by a match against the France Sevens at 3:35 AM on Sunday morning.

Overall, Rob’s inclusion in the squad marks an exciting new chapter for him and the Rush family. Fans are hopeful that his debut will energize the team and inspire a strong performance in the upcoming matches. The potential for Rob and Brady to play together is a highlight that many supporters look forward to, reinforcing the strong family legacy in New Zealand rugby.
