Police Commends Resilience in Challenging Times

The Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, today praised the outstanding efforts of officers in the Western Division at a medal presentation ceremony held at the Girmit Center in Lautoka. Chew acknowledged the numerous challenges the division faced last year but emphasized the importance of resilience and strong leadership in navigating these difficulties.

During his speech, Chew remarked, “We have our good days and bad days, but we continue to march on, never allowing the negatives to bring us down.” He extended his commendation to the District Police Commander (DPC) and the Command group for their leadership, which he believes has been crucial in maintaining direction amid challenges.

Additionally, Chew expressed gratitude for the support he has received during his tenure as Acting Commissioner and recognized retired officers for their ongoing contributions to the police force they once served.

In total, 188 officers and retirees received the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, while 69 officers were honored with the Fiji Police Medal, showcasing the dedication and commitment of the personnel to their roles in maintaining public safety.

This recognition ceremony not only highlights the hard work of law enforcement but also serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and the unwavering commitment of police officers to serving their communities. Such events inspire hope and reinforce the value of teamwork and dedication in the pursuit of safety and security.
