A new champion has emerged in the boys’ division of the Tailevu zone competition, with Queen Victoria School (QVS) claiming victory at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. They achieved this remarkable feat by securing a total of 33 gold, 21 silver, and 19 bronze medals, surpassing last year’s champion, Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS), which finished in second place with 15 gold, 21 silver, and 13 bronze medals. Tailevu North College (TNC) rounded out the top three in the boys’ division, gathering four gold, three silver, and 12 bronze medals.
In the girls’ division, Tailevu North College demonstrated their dominance by defending their title, accumulating 23 gold, 11 silver, and 13 bronze medals. Dawasamu Secondary School followed closely in second place with 10 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze awards, while Wainibuka Secondary School secured third with nine gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
The event was marked by a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants, a recurring theme highlighted in previous competitions. Athletes not only showcased their athletic talents but also reflected the support and pride of their communities.
