Akanisi Lupe Drasuna, currently serving as the personal development manager for Fijian Drua, has taken on the role of interim chief executive officer for Netball Fiji (NF). This announcement was made by NF president RubyAnn Sorovaki, who emphasized the organization’s commitment to meticulously searching for a suitable permanent leader.

Drasuna, who also holds the position of vice-president technical for Netball Fiji, will oversee administrative operations on a part-time basis during this interim period. Sorovaki noted that Drasuna is supported by other executive committee members, ensuring that the netball community continues to receive seamless service and support.

In her previous comments, Sorovaki revealed that four local candidates were shortlisted for the permanent CEO position, and NF plans to make an official announcement once a decision has been reached. Additionally, the organization intends to re-advertise the head coach position for the national team, the Pearls, at the end of next week, allowing for a thorough review of the job requirements.

This proactive approach by Netball Fiji reflects a dedication to fostering local talent and ensuring the sport’s growth and development within the community.
