Yesterday marked a significant milestone for Marist Brothers High School as they successfully concluded their inter-house meet, which took six weeks of intense preparation. The school’s head athletics coach, Antonio Raboiliku, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, while reminding everyone that focus must now turn to the upcoming Suva Zones set for next week.

Raboiliku highlighted the urgency of preparing for the Suva Zones, stating, “We are happy at where we are, but at the same time, we are mindful that we are the last inter-house being done. Now we need to go back to the drawing board because it will be just one week of preparation before we defend our Suva Zone title.”

The strength of Marist’s athletics team lies in its core of experienced athletes, many of whom have returned from last year. Additionally, the recent inter-house competition revealed promising new talent, which the coaches will work to integrate into the squad effectively.

The pressure mounts not just for the athletes but for the school to maintain its dominance in the Suva Zone, where the competition is fierce. Scheduled for March 27, the Suva Zone promises to be an exciting event as the Marist team looks to defend its title and demonstrate the fruits of their preparation.

The commitment shown by the athletes and coaches is commendable and suggests a bright future for Marist athletics as they aim to cultivate young talent. Their journey highlights the importance of teamwork, resilience, and continuous improvement, which is essential for any competitive sports program.
