Last night, a man from Navua was arrested by the Fiji Police Force due to the possession of illegal drugs. The operation was conducted in conjunction with the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU), who utilized a search warrant to thoroughly investigate the suspect’s home.

During the search, K9 Herb, a specially trained drug detection dog, successfully identified several locations within the residence that led to the discovery of 171 dried plants believed to be marijuana. These plants were found hidden in various places, including underneath a mattress, inside a bedroom wardrobe, and under the kitchen table. The suspect is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.

This incident highlights the ongoing commitment of Fiji’s law enforcement agencies to tackle drug-related crimes and ensure community safety. Similar operations have recently taken place, such as those at Port Mua-i-Walu, where multiple individuals were arrested for drug trafficking offenses.
