Fiji Police have launched an investigation into an intercepted delivery of cartons allegedly containing methamphetamine in Nadi this week.
This was confirmed by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew to The Fiji Times.
While the exact amount seized has not been disclosed, multiple sources have confirmed that more than 15 cartons were intercepted at a courier office in Nadi, allegedly containing methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
Mr. Chew stated that more details will be provided once investigations are concluded.
So far this year, police have conducted several drug busts, many involving methamphetamine.

– January 15: A major drug bust in Legalega, Nadi, was reported, with approximately 3 tonnes stored in 797 containers seized from a vacant home.
– January 22: Another significant bust occurred in Maqalevu, Nadi, involving 1.1 tonnes of white substances in crystal and powder form stored in various containers, including 4 large containers, 138 medium containers, 127 small containers, and 62 kava bags (500g packets).
– June 26: The Fiji Counter Narcotics Strategy revealed that 14.814kg of meth, with a street value of $7.4 million, had been seized in the country from January 2023 to date.
