A 40-year-old man tragically died while attempting to assist a homeowner whose house was on fire in Nadroumai Village, Nadroga, yesterday. The man was in the process of removing belongings from one of the rooms when he reportedly collapsed. He was quickly taken to Sigatoka Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Authorities are conducting an investigation, and a post-mortem examination will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. In light of several recent fire incidents, the Fiji Police Force is advising homeowners and property owners to implement precautionary measures by regularly checking for fire hazards in and around their properties.
