Auckland City, the champions of OFC, along with some of the world’s best clubs, will learn who they’ll face during the group stage of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in Miami, US. The draw is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024, and will be broadcast live at 1:00 PM local time (7:00 PM CET) on FIFA.com, FIFA+, and various other platforms.
By the time the draw occurs, all 32 participating clubs will have been confirmed. The final qualifier will emerge from the highly anticipated all-Brazilian CONMEBOL Libertadores final, where Clube Atlético Mineiro will compete against Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 30, 2024. This match adds significant interest to the CONMEBOL final, as Atlético Mineiro seeks their second title, while Botafogo aims for their first.
FIFA has also disclosed the 12 stadiums that will host this esteemed tournament. Notably, Inter Miami CF has qualified as the host representative following their outstanding 2024 MLS season. Seattle Sounders FC is set to play all their group-stage matches at Lumen Field, known for its passionate fanbase. The tournament is set to kick off in Miami at Hard Rock Stadium on June 15, 2025. Hisense has been announced as the first partner of the event, following a promotional event in Shanghai.
