The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) has reported impressive revenue collections of $1.169 billion between August and November 2024, exceeding forecasts by $178 million. FRCS CEO Udit Singh attributed this robust collection to strong economic performances across key sectors and effective compliance initiatives implemented by the FRCS.

Breaking down the monthly collections: in August, $291.9 million was collected—$53.5 million more than expected; September saw $290.9 million, exceeding forecasts by $8.6 million; October reached $300 million, outperforming projections by $24 million; and November reported $286.5 million, surpassing expectations by $18.9 million.

Looking forward, Mr. Singh remains optimistic that revenue projections for December 2024 and subsequent months will continue along this successful path.

This growth not only reflects the resilience of Fiji’s economy but also underscores the effectiveness of the FRCS in managing revenue collection. It’s encouraging to see such positive financial trends which could indicate a strengthening economy and greater funding for public services moving forward.
