The Parliament of Fiji is scheduled to convene at the end of this month to appoint the country’s new President. The Business Committee has confirmed that the appointment will take place on the 31st of this month at 11 am. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to put forward the nomination of the current President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere. According to the 2013 Constitution, a President is permitted to serve two terms in office.
