Last night, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with Fijian expatriates, primarily students studying at various universities in China.
Upon his arrival at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Beijing, the students warmly welcomed him in a traditional manner.
After exchanging greetings, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the students for maintaining their cultural traditions while being far from home. He emphasized the importance of education and the significant role these students play as representatives of Fiji globally.
“Do not worry about us back home. Represent our country with pride. We are making progress and thriving. Focus on your studies and excel in your academic pursuits,” he advised.
Rabuka recognized the challenges faced by students studying abroad and commended their resilience and dedication.
“Remember, we are here for you, and congratulations on your achievements,” he added.
In closing, Prime Minister Rabuka thanked the Chinese government for its ongoing support in the education of Fijian students and for cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
