Fiji’s Heavy Rain Alert Lifted: What’s Next for the Weather?

The Nadi weather office has lifted its heavy rain alert for the Fiji group. A weak trough of low pressure that was causing the weather disturbance is now slowly moving eastward away from the islands. The current forecast indicates cloudy conditions with occasional showers across most areas of Fiji.

As the day progresses, particularly in the afternoon and evening, there is an expectation of more frequent and heavier showers, especially affecting regions such as Serua-Namosi, Naitasiri, Nadroga/Navosa, Ra, and coastal areas stretching from Sigatoka to Suva. Additional areas that may see increased rainfall include Tailevu North, Cakaudrove Province, and Southern Bua Province.

This recent update from the weather office brings some relief to the affected regions as the threat of extreme weather diminishes. Residents are encouraged to stay alert for any changes in weather conditions, but the cancellation of the heavy rain alert marks a hopeful turn towards clearer skies ahead.
