The Super Featherweight and Lightweight boxing titles in Fiji are now officially vacant. Ubayd Haider previously held both titles, but Adi Narayan, chairman of the Boxing Commission of Fiji, announced in a press conference that the titles are no longer held by him.
Narayan explained that Haider failed to accept a challenge from Mikaele Ravalaca, which led to the titles being vacated. Ravalaca is now set to compete for one of the titles against an opponent who has yet to be announced, with this potential matchup expected to take place in November.
In response, Haider’s manager, Alan Kumar, stated that they will relinquish the belts but plan for Haider to face Ravalaca in the coming months. Kumar also noted that Haider is prepared to fight for an IBO title in October, emphasizing that his focus is on that upcoming match. Narayan confirmed that Haider has been cleared to pursue the IBO title this October.
