The Fiji Police Force has dismissed claims circulating on social media that a police officer is involved in the investigation of Constable Peniasi Racagi’s death. Officials have clarified that reports suggesting the third suspect in this case is a police officer are unfounded.
Authorities revealed that the individual in question had been interrogated and subsequently released while investigators continued to analyze the information provided. The partner of this suspect was also questioned to corroborate alibi details.
In addition, claims regarding the disappearance of a person who provided information to the investigation have been debunked. Police confirmed that this individual is safe and with her family.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu emphasized the commitment to transparency and accountability regarding any potential police involvement in the case. He stated that a specialized division from the Criminal Investigations Department is examining these allegations, assuring the public that all credible information will be investigated thoroughly.
