Attention, Fiji! Grab your umbrellas and maybe a canoe because a heavy rain alert is in place for the entire Fiji group! Don’t worry, it’s not a surprise; this weather just loves a good downpour.

If you thought you were just going to enjoy a nice, dry evening, think again. A flash flood alert is also ringing the alarm bells across Fiji. Be careful out there, especially in low-lying areas. And if you’ve had your fill of water this week—don’t get any ideas about trying to swim to work!

Added to the mix, there is a flood warning for those living near the Rakiraki Town’s Nakauvadra River, Yaqara River, and Tavua Town Bridge. Our rivers have decided to go on an adventure, and they may just want some company.

Currently, a lazy trough of low pressure is stuck over Fiji, moving southward as though it’s strolling in to offer some rain therapy. Cloudy skies and raindrops are expected to keep us company until Saturday, and then an east to northeast wind will blow in, perhaps providing a cool breeze to everyone waiting on the sidelines for their beach day.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow: We’re looking at some intermittent rain and a few thunderstorms, so if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to stay in and watch your favorite show, congratulations, the weather has provided one! Just watch out for those heavy falls that might sweep you off your feet.

Monday’s outlook promises some clouds with the potential for showers, especially in the eastern and interior parts of the islands. In other areas, the skies might clear up for a bit, only to tease you with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. It’s like Mother Nature just can’t make up her mind!

Now, here’s the forecast from various spots across Fiji:

For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Rain with a few thunder claps is expected. Tomorrow’s temps will range from a cozy 24 to a toasty 30. Sunday looks slightly more cheerful—clouds with some showers in store.

For Natadradave/Korovou: Rain and the occasional roll of thunder. Tomorrow’s numbers are between 24 and 29. Sunday continues the wet theme but adds some clouds to the mix.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Pack your raincoat because it’s time for occasional rain and thunderstorms. Tomorrow’s range will be a comfy 24 to 30. On Sunday, expect some clearing with only a sprinkle of showers.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: It’s raining, it’s pouring, and you might be snoring tomorrow with temps from 24 to 30. Expect some calm on Sunday, but those afternoon showers might just crash the party.

For Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca, Labasa, and Savusavu: A chorus of rain and a few thunderclaps for you all! Tomorrow’s forecast is similar: 24 to 29 degrees with chances of agitated skies.

For Taveuni, Lau/Lomaiviti and Kadavu: Keep those raincoats handy. Tomorrow will see a range from 24 to 31, with showers and maybe a bolt of lightning to spice things up.

For Rotuma: Expect an active weather show with rain and thunderstorms. Tomorrow might be a bit cooler with a high of 32—perfect for an indoor BBQ!

In short, if you have the inclination to dance in the rain, it seems your wish is granted! Just remember to bring your gumboots! Stay dry and safe, Fiji!
