A heavy rain alert is currently in effect for the Fiji group due to a slow-moving trough of low pressure affecting the region. The Nadi weather office has indicated that another trough from the west brings additional cloudiness and rain to the area. The forecast predicts occasional rain accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and potentially heavy rainfall across most locations.

The Fiji Meteorological Service warns that localized heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas. There is also a risk of gusty winds associated with thunderstorms and heavy rain events.

While a previous flash flood alert for low-lying, flood-prone areas and small streams throughout Fiji has been cancelled, residents are advised to remain cautious and stay updated on weather developments.

In summary, though there is a moderately concerning weather situation, with alerts issued for rain and potential flooding, it is crucial to avoid panic and take necessary precautions. Maintaining readiness can help communities stay safe during this weather pattern.
