The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s rugby team is on a quest to make history by achieving back-to-back wins, a feat they last accomplished in 2019. In the 24-year history of the World Sevens Series, Fiji has only managed to secure consecutive titles once—victorious in the London 7s against Australia, followed by a win against New Zealand in Paris just a week later.

Head coach Osea Kolinisau emphasized the importance of consistency as the team prepares for the Cape Town 7s. He has been working closely with the players in Cape Town to ensure they are ready for the challenges ahead. Despite appearing to have a manageable pool, Kolinisau cautioned his team against becoming complacent, urging them to stay focused as all teams will be striving for maximum points in the revised tournament format.

Fiji’s campaign will begin against Uruguay at 12:38 AM tomorrow, followed by a second match against Great Britain at 4:38 AM. The team’s dedication and determination could lead to exciting outcomes as they aim to continue their successful legacy in rugby.

This tournament presents a unique opportunity for the Fiji team to not only build on their past achievements but also to inspire their fans with their performance. With the spirit of teamwork and determination, the players might just redefine their history once again in Cape Town.
