“Exciting Competition Unfolds in Southern Zone U-19 Cricket”

The Southern Zone under-19 Men’s Cricket competition has begun, featuring 10 schools, an increase from the previous eight schools over the last three years. The event kicked off at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.

The schools are vying for the top four positions in the zone to advance to the revamped national under-19 men’s finals set for August.

This competition will span six weeks, with the finals slated for August 10th. The Nationals will occur from August 27th to 30th, 2024.

In yesterday’s matches, Suva Grammar School defeated Tailevu North College by 62 runs. SGS batted first, posting 102 runs for seven wickets. Tailevu North College responded with only 40 runs, losing all their wickets.

In another game, Ratu Kadavulevu School triumphed over Nabua Secondary School by nine wickets. Nabua scored 48 runs for three wickets, while RKS comfortably reached the target, losing just one wicket.

William Cross College won their match against Lelean Memorial School by nine wickets. Lelean batted first and made 27 runs for eight wickets, and WCC achieved the target with the loss of only one batsman.
