Three individuals were apprehended yesterday in separate police operations in Lautoka and Nadi for drug-related offenses.

The first incident involved a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place, Nadi, who were stopped by the Police K-9 Unit on Waiyavi Road in Lautoka. During the search, law enforcement officers confiscated two clear plastic bags containing a white substance, which is suspected to be methamphetamine.

In another operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was arrested after authorities discovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. A subsequent search of his residence, conducted by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit alongside the Police K-9 Unit, led to the discovery of additional marijuana seedlings.

The three men are currently in police custody as investigations into these drug-related matters continue.

This situation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and usage in the region. The vigilance of police units in detecting and apprehending individuals involved in illegal drug activities is a crucial step toward promoting community safety and public health.
