New rental opportunities have been introduced at the Damodar Arts Village in Pacific Harbour, thanks to the Damodar Group of Companies, which aims to appeal to young entrepreneurs and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). This initiative seeks to revitalize tourism and cultural engagement in the region.

Div Damodar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Damodar Group, stated that this initiative is crafted to provide businesses with a platform to grow and introduce innovative ideas into a space that has historically been underutilized. The company is actively encouraging young entrepreneurs and SMEs to seize this opportunity, offering support to help them establish and thrive in their new ventures.

Around 50 tenancy spaces will be made available, with priority given to emerging businesses and startups. One notable young couple has already committed to joining the village, with an announcement about their venture anticipated soon. Their story is expected to provide inspiration for others looking to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

This rollout of tenancy opportunities is part of a larger initiative to rejuvenate Pacific Harbour, an area that has long been overlooked in the tourism sector. Damodar emphasized the need to restore and promote Fiji’s iTaukei culture within tourism, highlighting a collaborative effort from both the government and the business community to place cultural heritage at the center of development.

Current vendors at the Arts Village have expressed strong support for this initiative, noting that the existing infrastructure is fully prepared to welcome new retailers. Vendor Asinate Diloi remarked on the significance of the Arts Village in presenting Fiji’s culture to visitors, underscoring the potential for incoming businesses to capitalize on the substantial tourist traffic from nearby resorts.

This new tenancy rollout is anticipated to breathe new life into the Pacific Harbour economy, creating opportunities for small businesses while strengthening the cultural tourism landscape in the area. The initiative holds promise for fostering a vibrant and diverse cultural and commercial hub, reflecting the rich identity of Fiji.
