More than 50 civil servants have been awarded medals to acknowledge their services.
“Recognition of individuals, whether at the national or community level, not only acknowledges their dedication but also inspires others towards excellence,” said President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.
“I am confident that the increasing interest in nominations will lead to more recognition in society.”
Ratu Wiliame said recognising the efforts of deserving individuals was essential to promoting accountability, transparency, and excellence in nation-building.
“In presenting these medals today, we also remember the importance of public service,” he said.
Ratu Wiliame also acknowledged the media for sharing stories of civil servants who continue to inspire the country with their work.
The President said the awards collectively underscored Fiji’s commitment to valour, service, and excellence across its civilian and disciplined sectors, reinforcing the nation’s values of courage, devotion, and public service.
