A man has been apprehended in connection with a robbery that took place in Raiwaqa, after the incident was recorded on CCTV and circulated on social media.
The robbery occurred on Saturday evening when the suspect reportedly snatched a woman’s handbag as she was getting out of a taxi outside a shop. The bag contained a mobile phone and cash. Following the incident, the victim promptly reported the crime to the Raiwaqa Police Station.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, stated that the arrest was made by the Southern Division Task Force, and the suspect is currently undergoing questioning as the investigation proceeds.
