Ba Women FC’s star forward Koleta Likuculacula celebrated Mother’s Day in Fiji by dedicating her team’s impressive 3-1 victory over Tupapa Maraerenga FC to all the mothers of the nation. After the match at Stade Fautaua in Tahiti, Likuculacula expressed her gratitude, stating, “First of all, I want to thank God for the victory… This win is for all the mothers in Fiji. Happy Mother’s Day!”
The performance was a standout as Likuculacula scored twice, earning the Player of the Match award, and helped her team secure a spot in the semi-finals of the OFC Women’s Champions League 2025. The game began with a flourish as Ba took the lead just four minutes in, with Likuculacula skillfully putting the ball past the Tupapa goalkeeper. The first half saw Ba dominate, with Ulamila Rasovasova scoring the second goal and Likuculacula netting her second shortly after that.
Despite facing a determined Tupapa side, who only managed a consolation goal in the 79th minute, Ba’s defense remained strong against their advances. Likuculacula had a chance for a hat-trick in the dying moments but was thwarted by the opposing goalkeeper’s impressive saves.
Ba Women FC continues to build momentum as they prepare for their next semi-final match against the Group B runners-up later this week. With their strong performances and a commendable team spirit, they are set to represent Fiji and make a positive impact on the international stage.
This victory not only highlights Ba’s capabilities but also reflects the growing enthusiasm for women’s football in the region, promising exciting developments in the future of the sport.
