The ROC Market in Suva came alive with vibrant colors and jubilant energy as the Chinese Association of Fiji celebrated the 2026 Chinese New Year. Families, visitors, and various dignitaries gathered to partake in the festivities that highlighted the Year of the Horse, featuring dynamic lion dances, children’s performances, and a variety of cultural displays.
Association president Jenny Seeto welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for the support from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the China Cultural Centre, which added significance to the event. The celebration also aimed to support local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through a unique voucher initiative, further emphasizing the community’s commitment to mutual support and economic growth.
Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka participated in the celebrations, contributing to the lively and inclusive atmosphere that marked the occasion.
