Two new schools are set to bolster the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League (FSSRL) this year, as confirmed by President Naisa Toko. Levuka Public School and Saint John Cawaci College will make their debut in this year’s competition, adding fresh talent and enthusiasm to the league.
In addition to these newcomers, Ratu Navula College and Naiyala High School are also returning to the league after a three-year break. Toko expressed excitement about the implications of these additions, particularly highlighting Cawaci and Ratu Navula as strong competitors in the Deans competition. Their re-entry, along with Naiyala, is expected to significantly elevate the competition’s intensity.
“Naiyala was also one of our most competitive schools in the competition, like Cawaci and Ratu Navula in the Deans. So them joining this year will hype up competition more,” Toko stated.
As the first round of the zonal competition kicks off tomorrow, anticipation is high for what promises to be a thrilling start to the 2026 FSSRL season. The return of these formidable institutions not only enhances the competitive landscape but also fosters community spirit and engages young talent in rugby, promising a vibrant season ahead.
