Two men are scheduled to appear in the Suva Magistrate’s Court today, facing charges in connection with the alleged murder of Police Constable Peniasi Racagi. Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu confirmed that the accused, aged 42 and 20, both residents of Qauia, Lami, have been formally charged after consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
According to Commissioner Tudravu, the accused, along with a third individual, are believed to have played a role in inflicting injuries on Constable Racagi between February 21 and 22, 2026, which ultimately led to his death. This tragic incident underscores the risks law enforcement officials face in the line of duty and highlights the importance of community safety.
