A one-year-old child has become the latest victim of a tragic road accident in Naitonitoni, Navua. The incident occurred yesterday when the child, who was with a parent and a sibling, reportedly left home unnoticed and wandered onto the road. The child was struck by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man.
Director Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, stated that the driver immediately took the child to Navua Hospital, where the child was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities are conducting investigations, focusing on potential negligence. SSP Divuana urged parents and guardians to exercise heightened vigilance in supervising young children, emphasizing that accidents can happen in mere seconds.
