Tragedy Strikes: Young Man Dies in Yacht Explosion in Fiji

The Fiji Police Force reports that a man in his 20s has died from injuries sustained in a fire while working on a yacht in Nadi on Monday. Authorities stated that the victim was performing maintenance on a yacht in Denarau alongside a 24-year-old colleague when an explosion occurred in the engine compartment, resulting in burns for both individuals. They were quickly transported to Nadi Hospital and subsequently transferred to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where the victim passed away the following night. The 24-year-old remains hospitalized in critical condition. Investigations are ongoing.
