A tragic accident in Naitonitoni, Navua has resulted in the death of a one-year-old child. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, the child was with a parent and a sibling when he allegedly wandered off from home and stepped onto the road, where he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man.
The driver immediately transported the child to Navua Hospital; however, the child was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities are conducting investigations into the incident, with a focus on potential negligence. SSP Divuana has urged parents and guardians to be vigilant in supervising young children, emphasizing that accidents can happen in an instant.
