A tragic incident has occurred in Lautoka, Fiji, where a teenager was recently evacuated from Vanuatu for medical reasons. Shivanshi Prasad, who had been receiving care in Fiji, passed away at Lautoka Aspen Hospital today, as confirmed by her uncle, Vishaal Kumar, on social media.
Kumar expressed the family’s unimaginable sorrow, stating, “These moments have been unimaginable and so heart wrenching,” and expressed gratitude for the support and interfaith prayers from the community during this difficult time. He shared a poignant sentiment, saying, “Finally, our baby is liberated and descended to heaven – our beautiful fairy.”
This heart-wrenching situation parallels another recent tragedy involving 18-year-old Vani Ratudradra, who was also a victim of a serious vehicle accident in Lautoka. Vani was preparing to join her twin sister in Australia when the fatal crash occurred. Tragically, she was one of four passengers in a car driven by a 24-year-old who allegedly lost control. The accident left Vani dead on the scene, while others sustained serious injuries. Her family was equally devastated, struggling to cope with their loss and the dreams that were extinguished.
Both families are experiencing profound loss, underscoring the fragility of life and the importance of community support during these challenging times. Efforts are ongoing to support the affected families as they navigate through their grief.
In the face of tragedy, it is crucial for communities to come together in support, celebrating the lives lost while cherishing their memories. As investigations into these incidents unfold, the resilience of the affected families may inspire others to lend a helping hand in times of need.
