The review of former Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Lynda Tabuya’s actions remains ongoing, as confirmed by General Secretary Sila Balawa. It has been four days since the People’s Alliance Disciplinary Committee released its findings, yet Balawa stated that the report has yet to be officially reviewed.
Balawa addressed the media, indicating that the People’s Management Committee (PMC) is still assessing the situation before it is presented to the People’s Executive Committee for further consideration. He mentioned that a definitive discussion regarding Tabuya’s membership in the party is not expected imminently, as the Executive Committee is still awaiting the PMC’s recommendations.
The disciplinary committee gathered in December at the People’s Alliance Headquarters to deliberate on Tabuya’s future within the party. Balawa suggested that further developments could occur later this week as the PMC proceeds with its discussions.
In a related note, inquiries have been made to PAP Leader Sitiveni Rabuka for additional insights.
This situation highlights the procedural nature of party governance, emphasizing the importance of thorough assessments before arriving at significant decisions regarding leadership and membership. The ongoing discussion in the party underscores a commitment to transparency and due process, which is crucial for maintaining trust within political organizations.
