Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has officially invited Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for a visit to Malaysia during a recent phone call. Anwar noted Rabuka’s interest in Malaysia’s development strategies, particularly the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) framework, which focuses on advancing economic and educational initiatives.
Anwar took to social media to express his enthusiasm for this diplomatic connection, emphasizing Malaysia’s willingness to share its expertise through the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP). This program aims to enhance human resource development via training and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
The conversation also underscored the importance of the recently reopened Fiji High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, a development that Anwar believes signifies Fiji’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with Malaysia.
