COMPLETE Insurance Services has stepped forward as the sponsor of the Billiards and Snooker Association of Fiji’s first National Snooker Rankings tournament for 2026, with the event scheduled to take place in Lautoka this weekend. The backing marks a timely boost for cue sports as the national circuit ramps up following Fiji’s recent representation at the Asia-Pacific Snooker Championship in Australia.
Fiji’s top player, Sahil Prasad, arrives in Lautoka as the firm favourite after a strong showing against top regional opponents at the Asia‑Pacific event. Prasad, who holds the country’s number one ranking, is expected to lead a competitive field that will contest ranking points that carry weight for national standings and future international selections.
A late change to the entry list has reshaped the seedings. Nausori Club’s Jiten Prasad, Fiji’s number two ranked player, has withdrawn from the tournament citing family commitments. His absence moves clubmate Deepak Ram up to the second seed, while Francis Ram — also of Nausori Club — is now third. Raymond Reddy of South Seas Club occupies the fourth seed. The reshuffle increases the spotlight on Nausori Club players as contenders to challenge Prasad’s top billing.
The tournament will include an open division for established players and a junior division designed to give rising talent competitive exposure. The junior event offers an opportunity for younger cueists to gain ranking experience and integrate into the sport’s development pathway as Fiji seeks to broaden its playing base beyond the established names.
COMPLETE Insurance Services’ sponsorship — described by organisers as a continuation of the company’s support for cue sports — will underwrite the association’s staging of what is the first ranking stop of the year. Organisers say sustained corporate backing is critical as the Billiards and Snooker Association works to expand competition opportunities and prepare players for regional tournaments.
With top players in action and the junior bracket providing a feeder for future stars, the Lautoka tournament is positioned to be a key early-season indicator of form and depth in Fijian snooker. Results this weekend will reset the national rankings and help determine momentum for players eyeing selection for upcoming international events.
