SR Ubuntu added to their remarkable debut in the Fiji Bitter Series by clinching the championship title at the Nahehevia 7s held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday. They secured a convincing 28-17 victory over Fresh’et Navy in the cup final, marking an impressive milestone in their first appearance in the series.

The tournament featured 52 teams competing over two days, showcasing a diverse array of talent in rugby. In addition to SR Ubuntu’s triumph, PSM Aflame claimed the title in the under-20 category, while Aflame Sisters emerged victorious in the women’s division.

Team manager Jone Madrai expressed his astonishment at the team’s achievement, highlighting their commitment and focus throughout the tournament. “We are in shock that we won; it has been hard work and dedication for the boys, they deserve it,” Madrai stated. He credited their rigorous training and strategic preparation as pivotal in their success against a formidable opponent like Navy.
