The National Play-offs for this year’s Vodafone Deans Trophy competition will take place at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, as confirmed by Jone Kanalagi, president of the Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union. The announcement was made during the recent launch of the Deans Trophy and Raluve Championship.
In past years, the National Play-offs have been hosted in the northern division, with last year’s games held at Subrail Park in Labasa. This year’s change in venue marks a significant shift in the competition’s location, aiming to provide greater exposure and accessibility to fans in Suva.
Week 11 will feature the Raluve quarter-finals, leading into the national play-offs. Kanalagi noted that several zones will finalize their competitions this weekend, allowing the top two teams from each zone to compete in the upcoming play-offs for a chance at the national title.
In related news, the Vodafone Super Deans national finals are also set to happen at HFC Bank Stadium, expected to kick off exciting match-ups for the under-18 category next weekend. The anticipated matches include defending champions Queen Victoria School facing off against Marist Brothers High School, and various other strong teams clashing in pursuit of victory.
This year’s events are promising to bring a thrilling atmosphere and high-caliber rugby, providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and passion for the sport. With both Deans and Raluve competitions lined up, the upcoming weeks are sure to generate excitement among players and fans alike.
