Participants in the Territorial Force (TF) Bridging Course engaged in advanced field training with a tactical “walk-through” exercise at the Colo-i-Suva–Tamavua training area. The practical session was structured to emphasize terrain appreciation, section formations, movement techniques, and coordinated responses, operating under realistic field conditions.

This training initiative is designed to improve teamwork, situational awareness, and critical thinking, building upon prior classroom instruction. Lieutenant Colonel Ilisoni Saladuadua, the Commanding Officer of the 6FIR, supervised the exercise, offering direct mentorship and real-time feedback. His involvement underscores the Brigade’s commitment to operational excellence and high training standards.

As the course progresses in the following weeks, participants will further refine their tactical awareness and fieldcraft skills. This ongoing development is vital for fostering a capable and adaptable military force.

In conjunction with similar training programs undertaken by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), such as the logistical training courses in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force, there is a clear trajectory of growth and enhancement of military capabilities. The RFMF’s commitment to continuous improvement in training reflects a hopeful outlook for military readiness and cooperation within the region, fostering responsible and skilled leadership.

This dedication to training not only strengthens the internal capabilities of the forces but also contributes positively to national security and regional stability, highlighting the importance of well-trained military personnel in addressing both local and international challenges.
