A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Wailea on charges of unlawful possession of illicit drugs after a coordinated police raid today. Officers from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, along with the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), executed the operation, during which they seized dried branches and leaves that are suspected to be marijuana.
The precise amount of drugs confiscated will be determined following further analysis. Following the raid, the suspect was transported to the Nabua Police Station for questioning.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement, emphasizing that public cooperation in sharing information was instrumental in facilitating the successful arrest and seizure.
