Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has honored civil servants, acknowledging them as the often-unseen backbone of government success. During the Christmas Thanksgiving service at Centenary Church in Suva, Rabuka emphasized that while elected leaders often receive public accolades, it is the dedication and sacrifices of public servants that truly foster progress.
He pointed out that the achievements of the government heavily rely on those who work quietly behind the scenes, ensuring that policies are effectively implemented and that day-to-day operations run smoothly. Rabuka stated, “Let us acknowledge their unseen deeds, unseen sacrifices. We get the accolade; we get the thanks. Those of us who stood for elections and are looking forward to another election will get the votes, but you are the ones who carry the banner of the government of the day.”
As the year comes to a close, the Prime Minister urged civil servants to maintain their commitment and strive for excellence. Reflecting on the past year, he acknowledged the challenges faced but commended those who have worked diligently to keep the government functioning positively.
This recognition of civil servants reinforces the critical role they play in society and highlights the importance of their contributions to the stability and progress of the nation. Rabuka’s message serves as a reminder that behind every government achievement lies the hard work of individuals dedicated to serving the community.
