In a statement released after a meeting in Washington, the alliance urged for swift justice against the perpetrators of this heinous act, reinforcing their commitment to combating terrorism.
The attack, which took place on April 22, has led to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, with India holding Pakistan responsible while Islamabad has denied these allegations, calling for an impartial investigation into the incident. The U.S. State Department refrained from specifically naming Pakistan in their joint condemnation, though the call for accountability was unambiguous.
The foreign ministers of the Quad members stated, “The Quad unequivocally condemns all acts of terrorism and violent extremism, including cross-border terrorism,” emphasizing the need for cooperation among all United Nations members to bring those responsible to justice.
Transitioning from the immediate tragedy, the recent military responses have further complicated the conflict, with significant fallout from India’s Operation Sindoor.
