The condition of the roads at the Suva Bus Stand has raised significant concerns for both pedestrians and bus operators. Increasing potholes in the area are making it increasingly challenging to navigate, particularly during the busy peak hours.

In light of these issues, the Suva City Council (SCC) has assured the community that road repairs are a top priority. Acting chief executive officer Tevita Boseiwaqa stated that the council is in ongoing discussions with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to tackle the situation.

“We are treating this as a priority,” Mr. Boseiwaqa affirmed. He noted that while the wet weather has exacerbated the deterioration, the council is committed to initiating repairs as soon as the weather conditions permit.

This proactive approach by the SCC is a promising sign for the community, indicating that their concerns are being heard and addressed promptly. The coordination between local authorities and road management agencies reflects a collaborative effort to improve infrastructure, ensuring better safety and accessibility for all users.

In summary, the deteriorating roads at the Suva Bus Stand are a significant concern, but the SCC’s commitment to resolving the issue bodes well for future improvements. As weather conditions improve, residents can look forward to enhanced travel experiences in the area.
