Police Commissioner Qiliho Resigns Amid Misconduct Scandal

Suspended Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has officially resigned. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who also chairs the Constitutional Offices Commission, confirmed that Qiliho submitted his resignation last week. The Constitutional Offices Commission is scheduled to meet later this week. Qiliho was suspended in 2023 by President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere based on the Prime Minister’s recommendation due to alleged misconduct. He is currently serving a two-year sentence for abuse of office.
