Seven members of the opposition, part of the Group of 9, are set to be officially sworn in as Ministers today, marking a notable shift in government leadership. The ceremony will take place at 11 AM at the State House.

The group will see Ioane Naivalurua, a former Police Commissioner, appointed as Minister for Police. Viliame Naupoto is expected to take over the Immigration portfolio, while Mosese Bulitavu is poised to manage the critical Climate Change portfolio. All these positions are currently held by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

Additionally, four members will step into Assistant Minister roles. Aliki Bia is anticipated to become the Assistant Minister for Information, Penioni Ravunawa will take on Health, Ratu Josaia Niudamu will oversee Justice, and Naisa Tuinaceva, the former CEO of the LTA, is set to be the Assistant Minister for Transport and Infrastructure.
